The main focus is to bring those working in the area of rural community development together to share ideas on how to help agriculture survive and keep rural communities alive.

Attendees share ideas with other participants in their field; develop new skills and knowledge in the area of rural development; and network with their peers. The institute features both on-site and educational mobile workshops. The mobile workshops allow participants to view successful development efforts in the area and experience some of the challenges facing Nebraska’s rural communities.
