This is a full two-day workshop conducted on site. Day one introduces the basic concept and principles of facilitation and clarifies the differences between a leader, facilitator, mediator, negotiator and advocate. Participants learn a facilitative process for reaching consensus through lecture followed by practice through a mock exercise. A homework assignment challenges them to apply what they have learned in a group situation. Day
two features strategies for increasing influence in groups, followed by
strategies for dealing with difficult people, and concluded by an explanation
of different techniques for leading groups to decisions and an opportunity
to practice these techniques through a mock exercise. |
