By the end of the program, participants can understand the varying degrees of interplay or mutuality for different types of cooperating groups—partnerships, collaboratives, coalitions, networks; Become more self aware about what is required when individuals or individual representatives agree to join a partnership or collaborate; Know how to help clarify the purpose of a partnership or collaborative; Be able to identify who needs to be a member of the partnership and who doesn’t; Understand the sequence of tasks required to build the foundation for effective collaboration; Become familiar with how to negotiate roles, contributions and expectations for a partnership; Internalize the concept “the more you give away, the more you get in the long run”; Understand consensus and joint decision making processes.
