Native Education and Economic Development
The North Central region is home to the majority of Tribal Colleges and Universities and includes many reservations. These communities face many challenges related to educational access, economic development and community health, yet across Indian Country exciting new initiatives bring hope to people at the same time they build assets. The NCRCRD is committed to supporting these efforts, as well as to providing opportunities for the Tribal colleges and universities and 1862 state Land-Grants to learn from each other and identify strategies to work together. Harriet Skype, vice president for Inter-Tribal Programs at United Tribes Technical College sits on the NCRCRD Board of Directors and provides guidance to the Center as we pursue this work.
