RRD 163 Partners in Community Leadership: Youth and Adults Working Together for Better Communities

Hougen, R.E., K. Walker, E. Templin and J. Ayres. 1993. Partners in Communty Leadership: Youth and Adults Working Together for Better Communities. (RRD163). Ames, IA: North Central Regional Center for Rural Development. ISBN 0-93691-07-X. Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 93-86578.

This is an educational program that provides opportunities for youth and adults to work together as partners in the process of community decision-making for rural revitalization. The program combines subject matter with experiential learning activities divided into 10 modules. It has become the first 4-H produced curriculum to be accepted into the National Juried 4-H Youth Development Curriculum Collection.

The basis of the program is that youth have an interest in, as well as a need for, working with adults to improve the quality of life in their rural communities. They have special capabilities, perspectives, and energies to work with adults in dealing with issues and decisions that affect them now and in the future.
