Rural Community College Initiative
The North Central Regional Center for Rural Development and the Southern Rural Development Center have received a grant from the Ford Foundation for a two-year project called the Rural Community College Initiative. The goal of RCCI is to enhance educational access for equitable economic development through community/tribal college—extension—community teams. Mary Emery is the RCCI facilitator. - The Rural Community College Alliance will hold the 3rd Annual RCCA Conference October 3-5, 2004 at the Radisson Plaza Hotel Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The theme of RCCA 2004 is "Shining a Beacon of Hope on Rural Communities: New Directions for Rural Community Colleges."
