Appropriate Technology Transfer for Rural Areas (ATTRA)
ATTRA—Appropriate Technology Transfer for Rural Areas—is the national sustainable farming information center operated by the private nonprofit National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT). ATTRA provides technical assistance to farmers, Extension agents, market gardeners, agricultural researchers and other ag professionals in all 50 states.

Center for the Study of Rural America
The Center for the Study of Rural America at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City focuses on the economic and policy issues that are unique to rural America and produces studies on leading economic topics that defines the future of the people who work and live in rural America.
Change Agent States for Diversity (CASD)
The Change Agent States for Diversity (CASD) project is a consortium of eight states dedicated to supporting greater cultural diversity in the Land Grant system. The consortium will bring needed technical skills and training to each of the member states and will develop successful models and strategies that can be applied throughout the system.
Included on this Web site is material that is specifically useful to those trying to organize communities or build local community co-intelligence capacity. One resource is a toolbox of processes for community work — a list of processes that can increase the capacity of communities to respond intelligently to the changing environment around them, including crises.
A series of three courses called the Community Development Academy is offered by the University of Missouri Community Development Extension Program. The Community Development Academy is an intensive, experiential, five-day course (for noncredit or for three hours undergraduate or graduate credit), which explores ideas and develops practical skills for effectively involving and empowering local citizens and leaders in community-based efforts.
Community Resource and Economic Development

The Community and Rural Development Institute (CaRDI) responds to current and emerging needs in community and rural development. The Diversity Center provides an opportunity to collaborate with Extension professionals to create new ways of effectively serving our diverse society. The Diversity Center is a project of the Subcommittee on Extension Diversity, a subcommittee of the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy’s (ECOP), Personnel and Organization Development Committee (PODC).
The Extension Disaster Educator Network (EDEN) links Extension educators from across the U.S. and various disciplines, enabling them to use and share resources to reduce the impact of disasters. Managing Information with Rural America
The Managing Information in Rural America (MIRA) initiative is part of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Food Systems and Rural Development (FS/RD) program. National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC)
Founded in 1887, NASULGC is the nation's oldest higher education association. It's a voluntary association of public universities, land-grant institutions and many of the nation's public university systems, with campuses located in all 50 states, the U.S. territories and the District of Columbia. NASULGC is dedicated to supporting excellence in teaching, research and public service. In 1963, the American Association of Land-Grant Colleges and State Universities merged with the National Association of State Universities to create the association in its present configuration as the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges. Its acronym is NASULGC (pronounced na SUL jick).

Resource Guide on Rural Latinos
One link provided by JSRI is a set of connections to scholars with expertise in issues of Latinos in rural communities. One page of the Web site is devoted to the JSRI Resource Guide on Rural Latinos, which is a directory and listing of experts and organizations who serve rural Latinos.
The Rural Assistance Center (RAC) was established in Decmber 2002 as a rural health and human services "information portal." RAC helps rural communities and other rural stakeholders access the full range of available programs, funding and research that can enable them to provide quality health and human services to rural residents.
The Rural Information Center (RIC), USDA's national information service, provides funding sources, information and referral services to rural communities, officials, organizations and citizens throughout the U.S.
The Rural Policy Research Institute (RUPRI) conducts policy-relevant research and facilitates public dialogue to assist policymakers in understanding the rural impacts of public policies and programs. Many policies which are not explicitly "rural policies" nevertheless have substantial implications for rural areas, and RUPRI is dedicated to understanding and articulating these implications.

Rural Development Briefing Rooms
The Rural Development Briefing Room contains information on emerging social and economic issues in rural areas, ERS rural development publications, snapshots of population, employment, poverty, income and industry tends in rural America, and data sets. The Rural Development Briefing Room is the only public source of current rural and urban unemployment and employment indicators.
Rural People, Rural Policy is a part of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Southern Rural Development Center
The SRDC supports research and extension efforts to improve the lives of people living in nonmetropolitan areas of the United States. Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education
Since 1988, the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program has helped advance farming systems that are profitable, environmentally sound and good for communities through a nationwide research and education grants program. The program, part of USDA's Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service, funds projects and conducts outreach designed to improve agricultural systems.
This site contains the National Extension Tourism Database, a comprehensive inventory of Extension resource materials related to tourism education.
