The Magnificent Mile

North Michigan Avenue

Up-scale shopping includes Water Tower Place Mall, 900 North Michigan Avenue Shops, and Chicago Place Shops
 

Up-scale shopping venues along the Magnificent Mile includes Water Tower Place Mall, 900 North Michigan Avenue Shops, and Chicago Place. Exclusive retail establishments include Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Marshall Field's. Boutiques include Cartier, Hermes, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Tiffany & Co., as well as a number of additional internationally recognized names.
       
State Street or "Loop"

The Loop is located in downtown Chicago.
  Stores located on State Street include Marshall Fields, Carson Pirie Scott, TJ Maxx, Filene's Basement, Payless Shoe Source, Toys 'R Us, Maller's Building (Jeweler's Row), Wabash Jeweler's Mall, Sharper Image, Crate & Barrel, Brooks Brothers, Petite Sophisticates, Talbott's, Eddie Bauer, Church's Shoes, Altman's Shoes & Boots, Crown Books, De Paul Music Mart. Other stores include art galleries, museum stores and novelty shops.
       


Oak Street

The Oak Street shopping district is located just off of the Magnificent Mile.
 

Stores in the Oak Street shopping district include designer shops--Giorgio Armani, Hino & Malee, Sonia Rykiel and Ultimo--and speciality shops--Marilyn Miglin Institute, Lester Lampert, Inc. and the Alaska Shop Gallery of Eskimo Art.
       
River North
This newly gentrified neighborhood is located on the north bank of the Chicago River just west of Michigan Avenue.
  Stores in this shopping district include art galleries, auction houses, antique dealers, jewelers and clothing boutiques. The first two floors of the Merchandise Mart, located in the southern part of the River North neighborhood, houses "The Shops At The Mart," an 80-store retail complex featuring Carson Pine Scott, The Coach Store, The Gap and The Limited.
