Welcome! The Workforce Preparation Initiative Team is dedicated to helping you. Workforce preparation is a major issue throughout the country addressing numerous concerns such as communities with too many workers and too few jobs, employees with no-longer-needed skills, and areas with too many jobs and too few skilled workers. The Initiative's goal is to create opportunities for learning so that youth and adults can successfully navigate the transitions of youth-to-work, welfare-to-work, and work-to-work.

The Workforce Preparation Initiative System Assessment is a searchable database that will give you leads to curricula and expertise throughout the United States. As you prepare programs to address workforce needs of individuals, businesses, and communities, you can tap into a wealth of experience. Existing curricula have been created to 1) prepare a diverse youth population for first-time jobs, 2) help welfare recipients gain skills to acquire and sustain new jobs and prepare for better jobs, and 3) help adults retrain for job flexibility and work transitions. By building on tested programs, you can creatively adapt these programs for the populations you serve.

We welcome your additions and comments to this data base.
